I am blogging to you from one of my favorite places in the whole world, my hometown of Chicago! I am here just catching up on some much needed R&R, and spending time with my dad who is here on business.
Today I made my way down to Wicker Park to check out their thrifting scene. I was in HEAVEN! They have so many eclectic shops, and not to mention a huge resale / vintage scene. A few of my favs were:
Buffalo Exchange: found a couple great dresses here that I am going to sew to refashion. I also got a LBD from J Crew for $10!
Continental Exchange: Got some amazing jeans, H&M dresses and some cute skirts for as low as $5! However, I am an idiot and bought a leather handbag that i thought was real Louis (well come on, it sais Louis on the front!) Luckily my best friend is a connisuer of fashion and all things designer, she advised me the bag was fake :( Guess I should have known better, but I am the worst at telling if something is real or fake (unless it comes to boob jobs haha).
Ragstock: Scored some amazing vintage dresses from the 70's that I will refashion (pictured below). Also scored a vintage blazer that I have some big plans for.
All in all, it was a fun day and I was definetely in heaven. I wish St.Louis had the thrifting / resale scene that Chicago has, maybe they do and I have yet to discover it! Anyway, I cant wait to refashion these amazing vintage dresses, I will keep you posted for sure!
Tell me, whats the coolest thing you have scored at a thrift / resale shop?
