How To Choose Colors
I found this great color wheel on styleprompt.com. The wheel is full of the fun, bright colors gracing the runways, and is a great tool to use when deciding on what colors to pair with each other. The best way to tell which colors will look best together is to use the rule of two thirds. Essentially what you will do is choose one color, and make an invisible triangle using that main color as the point. The two colors on the bottom of your triangle (opposite of your main color) are the colors that will compliment each other. For example, using the wheel below, I have chosen solid purple. Using purple as the point of my triangle, the two colors at the bottom would be either bright yellow and green, or bright yellow and mustard. All 3 colors will pair nicely with royal purple.
Ways to color block
If you are new to the whole color blocking trend, and arent quite ready to dive in head first, you are in luck. There are subtle ways to pull off this trend while still looking bright and fun. Here are a few ways to get started with color blocking.
Bright Heels and Accessories
A great way to subtly pull off the color blocking trend is to wear a neutral colored dress and pair it with a bright pair of pumps, or some boldly colored accessories. A nude, summery dress looks great with a pair of red hot heels. Also, a white blouse and cream trousers look amazing with some bold bangles, and a neon pink lip.
