Alexander Wang: Bold Eyebrows
We can always count on the amazing Alexander Wang to start the hottest trends, and this year he does not dissapoint. The models walked the catwalk sporting some full, and beautiful bold eyebrows.
To get the look: Line and fill in sparse eyebrows using an eye pencil that is a shade lighter than your hair color.

This is a new take on statement bangs, short, piecey and angled. I saw Christina Aguilera sporting this trend a while back, and I must say it grew on me. Im not bold enough to pull it off, but maybe someday!
To get the look:
Have your stylist point cut your bangs in an angle to give texture, and provide a peicey look.

Tibi: Textured, Wrapped Pony Tails
A fresh take on an all time classic. The wrapped pony tail is going to take over the top knot, I can feel it :)
To get the look:
- Pull hair into a low pony
- Wrap a one inch section around pony tail holder and tuck in. Pin into place if necessary.
- Spritz a texture spray into remaining hair, and slightly tease
- Smooth out unruly fly aways with a boar bristle brush
- Hair spray to keep in place

Runway: Bold Eyeshadow
Neons and color blocking seem to be a huge fashion trend arising for Spring 2012, so why not add some bold eyeshadow to match? A lot of the models on the catwalk were sporting some serious, eye-popping eyeshadow in colors like orange, purple and blue.
Get the look:
- Apply an eye primer to the lid before eyeshadow application
- Sweep on a bold eyeshadow over the lid, and slightly above the crease
- Highlight brow bone with a luminizing cream
- Apply black mascara to lashes
Runway: Sun Kissed Cheeks
Glowing complexion has always been in, but this spring it is being taken to the next level. Bronzed, sun kissed cheeks with a shimmering glow was showcased at this years fashion week. It seems to me that spring and summer are definitely being channelled with this years makeup trends on the catwalk!
To get the look:
- Using an angled blush brush, swipe a shimmery bronzer along jaw bone
- Apply a baby pink cream blush to apples of cheeks and blend
- Finish with a luminizing powder along cheekbones and blend
Runway Hair Trend: Big, Equestrian braids.
Texture is in this season, in addition to a simple braid the look is a fresh and easy trend. A new twist on an old classic leaves you looking chic, and the best part is, this style is so simple to pull off!
How to get the look:
- Blowdry hair upside down to maximize volume
- Spritz strands with a texturizing spray
- Tease hair with a wide tooth comb
- Gently smooth out fly-aways
- Braid using thicker sections
- Hair Spray
Betsey Johnson: Side Swept Locks
I love this style, and it might look familar to you, as some of the hottest celebs are already rocking this trend. Its a flirty look that can be done for a daytime look, and can cross right over for a night out on the town.
To get the look:
- Using a one inch barrell curling iron, curl hair in thick sections away from your face
- Spritz with a light hold hairspray
- Gently brush out curls
- Add a smoothing serum to ends for definiton and shine
- Sweep hair to one side, pinning with bobby pins or any other hair clip
- Smooth down any fly aways
- Hair Spray

Au Natural Beauty a'la Lacoste Runway
Of course when pulling off this look, it cant hurt to be model gorgeous right? Kidding... this look is awesome because the more natural, the less time we have to spend primping in front of the mirror. Also, men LOVE natural makeup and touseled hair...it reminds them of what you would look like in the morning after a wild night :)
to get the look:
- Primp wet locks with a volumizing moose
- Blowdry hair upside down for maximium volume
- Using a texturizing spray, scrunch hair to add beachy texture
- Apply shine serum to ends for definition
Makeup:
Keeping makeup simple and fresh is the key
- Apply a tinted moisturizer to even out skin
- Apply concealer under eyes to cover any dark circles
- Apply a light pink blush to apples of cheeks and blend
- Add a highlighting cream under eyes to give an awake and fresh look
- Gloss lips with clear or nude gloss

Flapper-Esque Soft Waves: Joy Cioci
I will admit, this is the first I have heard of this designer, but I must say, the collection was one of my favs I have seen this year. The romantic looks were completed with elegant, feminine waves.
To get the look:
- Roll thick sections of wet hair into pin curls
- Blow-dry
- finger comb
- add shine serum for definition
- hair spray to hold

These runway beauty and hair trends are fashion forward, and easy to replicate at home. I am always looking for new tricks and inspiration when it comes to style and beauty, and thanks to Fashion Week I cant wait to start playing around and getting ready for Spring!
